Tournament Rules

boat2061. WEATHER: The decision to fish is solely the captain’s choice. All anglers fish at their own discretion and risk. If the tournament rules committee determines it is unsafe to fish, all cash awards will still be presented by randomly selecting boat numbers at the awards party (must be present to win). No entry refunds.

2. No visual check out or check in required.  Lines in a 6:30 a.m. and lines out at 2:00 p.m.  All anglers entering fish must return to Riviera Beach Marina in the boat they fished from and be in line at the tournament weigh station by 3:00 p.m.

3. All state & federal recreational fishing rules governing weight, size, bag limits and licensing must be observed. Only legal sized fish will be weighed.

4. Eastern boundary is 25 nautical miles. Fishing in the Bahamas is prohibited.

5. All fish must be caught on rod and reel (no electric reels). Kites, downriggers, planers, and wire lines are permitted. No line test restrictions. Live, dead and artificial baits are permitted. No limits to the number of lines each boat can fish.

6. Tournament scales open at 12 noon & close at 3 pm  (Any angler(s) still in line at 3:00 pm will have their fish weighed and be eligible for awards). Anglers entering fish must return to the weigh station by water, in the boat they fished from. No fish or anglers can be transferred between boats. All fish weighed in must be accompanied to the scale by an angler from the boat it was caught from and be weighed in the presence of the Official Tournament Weigh Master. No mutilated fish will be weighed. It is important to keep your fish adequately iced. In the event of a tie (identical weights), the first fish weighed in will win the award based upon time, the other fish will become eligible for the next lowest award category if applicable.

7. Only one (1) fish per category, per boat can be entered in the adult categories. Each junior angler is allowed to weigh in one fish. If a category remains vacant (i.e. no 10th place wahoo entered), that prize will not be awarded.

8. Any award winner receiving $600 or more will be required to provide a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number and will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year; a copy of such will be filed with the IRS.  Winners may be subject to a lie detector test at the sole discretion of the Tournament Rules Committee.

9. Junior anglers are not eligible for adult cash awards. Juniors must fight their fish unassisted. Juniors are defined as kids ages 6 – 12 years old (as of June 5, 2021).

10. Any protest concerning a rule violation must be filed with the tournament rules committee by 3:30 pm on the day of the tournament. Protests must be submitted in writing, stating specifics of the protest, and be accompanied by $500 cash (non-refundable). All decisions made by the Tournament Rules Committee are final and official.
